DispatchTxt provides two-way SMS dispatch messaging on behalf of towing and roadside operators ("Operators") to end customers requesting service. This page describes how the program works, how consent is obtained, and how customer information is handled.
Program Description
When you contact an Operator that uses DispatchTxt (for example, calling for a tow or requesting roadside assistance), the Operator's dispatcher may send you SMS or MMS messages related to your service request. Message content typically includes:
- Confirmation that a driver has been assigned.
- Estimated time of arrival and status updates.
- A one-time link to share your GPS location so the driver can find you.
- Photos of your vehicle or the scene (MMS).
- Payment or pickup instructions.
Consent / Opt-In
By providing your mobile number to an Operator when requesting service — over the phone, in person, on the Operator's website, or by texting the Operator's number first — you consent to receive SMS/MMS messages from that Operator through DispatchTxt related to your service request. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You are not enrolled in marketing messages by using this Service.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies with each service request. A typical dispatch conversation is 4–10 messages while a job is active, with occasional follow-ups afterward.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details on your plan.
Opt-Out — Reply STOP
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any message. Your number will be immediately and permanently unsubscribed for that Operator. You will receive one confirmation message. After that, you will not receive further messages unless you re-subscribe by replying START or UNSTOP.
Help — Reply HELP
Reply HELP to any message to receive contact information for the Operator and a reminder of how to opt out. You can also email us at support@dispatchtxt.com.
Supported Carriers
The program works with all major US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, and most MVNOs. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How Your Data Is Handled
- Phone number: stored to route messages between you and the Operator, and to enforce your opt-out preference.
- Message content: stored so the Operator's dispatcher can see the conversation history. Retained for 13 months.
- GPS location: only collected if you tap a location-share link the dispatcher sends you, and only stored for 30 days.
- No sale of data: your information is not sold and is not used for marketing.
- Opt-out ledger: if you reply STOP we permanently record that preference so you are not accidentally re-solicited.
